Hi all,

I can't ride because of the snow right, and the only thing I can do to the quad is make it shiny.
I'm going to polish (actually sandblast/sandpaper/polish) the footpegs, the foot rests, the shifter, rear brake pedal...everything that comes to my mind.
Actually I want to polish the footrests (the stock POS behind the footpeg) because all the paint is gone, and it's rusting like mad. So I'll polish it...but how can I avvoid that rusting (except buying a set of nerfs).
For the parts with no rubbing, clearcoat could be enough..but about the footpegs/footrests????
Any input about this appreciated.
Thanks

I dunno...its metal...paint it. if you polish metal it has to be clearcoated or it will rust. You might want to jsut paint them and be done with it. i painted my silver and clearcaoted them they look real nice but even that wont last.

Try applying a chrome and metal polish after everytime you wash the bike. It might not work on the footboards because of the high friction, but it seems to work on all the parts i have polished on my bike.

I would just paint the footrests, instead of sanding them and then clearcoating. I mean it will work, but it might not look that great and the clean coat will wear off faster than clear coat with a base coat of paint would.
