I have Keihn 35mm Air Strykers on my 98 Banshee. I was thinking about polishing or chroming them to match everything else on my bike.

Does anyone have advice on polishing or chroming carbs?

Are they aluminum or steel?

I am sure that you could polish the carbs because I am pretty sure that they are cast aluminum. However it really doesn't matter. The metal polish I have works on all metals.

they are aluminum and yes u can polish them, my advice is to get it really smooth maybe with some steelwool and then get a buffing wheel on a dremil since there are alot of really tight spots to get. but make sure that the surface is smooth

Well, I pulled them off today and took them to a polisher. I should have them back in a few days. We shall see!

When I pulled them off, I turned the air/fuel mixture screws in all the way so the polishing wheel wouldn't catch them. I found that one carb had the screw out 2 1/2 turns and the other 3 1/2 turns.

When I reinstall them, shouldn't I turn them out exactly the same number of turns? Any advice on how many turns they should be out or how do I adjust them so I achieve maximum performance?
