Default Anyone have any experience with an EPI clutch kit?

I ordered an EPI Sport/Utility clutch kit for my 2002 Sportsman 700 with 800 miles on it. That includes primary weights and spring and secondary Helix and spring. Designed for 0 -3000' elevation and stock exhaust and tires. I doo have an 800 header, stock muffler, 800 intake and proper jetting thats it.

Has anyone installed one of these EPI kits on their Sportsman? I got it for $60 on Ebay brand new, seemed like a good deal. Did you see performance gains and what area of the powerband were they recognised?

Thanks

Once EPI Chad sees the post, you should be getting all the answers you need.

I've run EPI big tire clutch kits in two of my 800's. Adds a lot of low end power and only gives up a few mph on the top end. well worth it IMO.

Thats an awesome deal. The sport utility kit is EPI's best all around kit. You should see better low end and midrange power and acceleration, faster backshift and throttle response, and it will grip the belt better then stock. Top rpms will stay were the stock 700 would run at from the factory. With the header and intake set up you might run 1-200 rpms higher and still be good. Install is no different then changing the factory parts in and out. Let me know if you run into any questions/problems.

Default Call EPI

I couldn't believe how knowledgable and helpful their technical staff is. They are also very easy to access.
