Default low fuel warning

Just wondering if everyone else's low fuel warning comes on as early as mine. The gauge was showing empty and the pod was flashing telling me to add fuel. I fit 12 liters (just over 3 gallons). The handbook states that it has a 16L capacity.
I like that the chance of me running out of gas is slim thanks to the early warning.
Does everyone else's kick in this early?

i think these bikes vary greatly on when the light comes on(flashes)and how much gas is left and being used. imo

Haven't ever had the light come on with the X2. It has a 6 gallon tank and the most I've ever had to put in was a little over 5 gallons.

Use the trip meter, the 09s have a 4.1 (15.5L) tank ,it should get 85-90 miles before warring about gas.
Most ATV gas gages are pretty inaccurate,

I only had just over 30 miles when the light came on, but it was alot of low gear, steep hill climbs, and rooted, rocky trails. Beat the heck out of my tierods. Very different trails then I am used too.

Did a nice thanksgiving mud run yesterday with a couple buddies. Pulled out the Honda's a couple of times. Felt good. Not very fair since they both have SRA bikes and I kill them when it comes to ground clearance.

I do feel my bike is a pig on gas though. Friends 450 king quad barely used 2 notches to my almost full tank.

Makes since, the 450KQ is 100lb lighter, has EFI,a larger 4.6 gas tank and the its 454 does not make the power of the H.O's 499. Drag race him if you don,t believe me. To make the 700lb 500H.O go as quick as it does,it takes a motor that drinks gas.

My friends 500 Foreman with a 4.1 tank goes 100 miles like I can with a 5.25 tank. But he has a small 36mm carb vs H.O 40mm,100lbs less weight and 8hp less.
