Don't get me wrong, I am a Kawi fan, if you look at the bottom of my post I own a Tecate4. I am so sick of Mojave owners asking why this, and why that........ why is the 300ex better, what can I do do make my Mojave better?
You people need to get a grip and realize, your Mojave SUCKS!! Get a real bike! If you want performance, get a 400ex or a Raptor or DS 650.......get a real bike!

Kawasaki is the only make to have a 4 stroke kick start sport bike on the market. That is sad! Well, all I have to say is they have lived on 1987 tech too long! It is time for a change and if it would have came sooner I wouldn't have bought a 400ex.

Right now, compared to what is out there, the Mojave SUCKS! And as far as I am concerned, so does Kawasaki!

If you have a Mojave, I feel sorry for you, you need to get rid of it and get with the times! If Kawasaki can't make a real sport bike, you need to make a change!

 

With all due respect, Racer18J; why, exactly, do you CARE whether anyone likes his Mojave or not?

I would hope no one would presume to tell you to get rid of your 400ex and get a "real bike," for any reason.

I'm not being critical; you may have very good reasons for your dipleasure at the choices others make (although I don't see how you are inconvenienced by those choices); I'm just asking in hopes of understanding why others' choices annoy you.

Don't get you wrong you say! You are nothing but wrong. Honda is the one with the ancient technology. A 87 mojave has more advanced tech than a 2001 400ex. Liquid cooled, Honda still using air cooled. Double overhead cam, honda still using single cam and even in case with push rods in some models! A good reliable easy to use reverse, where is it on your 400ex and the 300ex reverse is a joke. The square tube frames used by honda are also a joke, at least they changed that with the 400. The new honda 400 swing arms are breaking left and right and the rear sub frames are bending. And as for the Mojave kick start, that is one of the main reasons I bought a mojave. Some people like kick starts , they are reliable, save weight and you dont have to worry about a starter or battery going bad out in the woods and having to push that sucker back to the truck. The only thing out dated about the mojave is the size of the engine, but it makes more power for its size than any honda. The power from a 400 ex is a joke for the amount of cc's. Look at the yami 400 and there is no comparison. You have to spend thousnds on the honda to equal the stock power of the yami. the 400ex has also had considerable clutch problems.

All in all I guess I would rather have a more advanced and reliable 88 mojave than a dinosaur
technology 2001 400ex. And for the value of my dollar the gap is even wider.

When Kawi does does come out with a high performance quad all you Honda diehards had better look out, because 87 kawi tech is more advanced than 2001 Honda junk and I can just imagine what a 2002 kawi might be like. Just look at the new 650 Prarie in the utility market and you will see how advanced the new Kawi stuff is.

Honda lives on there name. I bet most honda owners won't wear anything but Tommy H clothes either.

 

If you don't like someones bike, then don't waist your time reading their threads.
All the quad bashing on these threads makes me sick. It's as if your type wants everyone to drive exactly the same thing you have or your not happy. If everyone had the same ride your on, then there would be no competition. And no evolution in the quality and performance of quads.
If everyone still rode the 300ex and never bought the 400's do you think Honda would still make the 400's?

 

Racer 18J you are an idiot. You come in here and bash the Mojave and tell us to wake up? You are the one that needs to wake up. I picked the Mojave because it offered liquid cooling, reverse and no electric start. The 300EX is not as high performance as the Mojave. I used to have a 250X so I know what they are all about. The 300EX is based on a design as old as a Mojave! As for your Tecate-4, I used to have a Quadracer and that machine was far superior to the Tecate-4. If Kawasaki had spent more time on the Tecate they may have gotten in to the point it was competitive with the Quadracer and 250R but they didn't and your machine is a joke compared to the other 250's.

As for your 400EX, great machine, lots of potential but where's the reverse gear? Where is the back up kick start? Hmm, let's see it must be a racer because it doesn't have reverse. No, that can't be right since it lacks liquid cooling and came with electric start. Well it must be the greatest sport quad ever, no, that isn't right because reverse gear is missing. Well what the heck is it supposed to be? Hate to break it to you but the Mojave is a better all around quad for sport riding and exploring than the 400EX.

im a honda owner and i love honda atv's. as you are a kawasaki owner and love your atv's. all of them have there high points and low points, so honda owners stop bashing kawisaki owners, kawasaki owners stop bashing honda owners. this gets you no place.

hmmmmmm. There I go again. Thinking that owning a quad. is for fun and an even better time when you have someone else to ride with. I just feel lucky to have one and experience the great joy they bring. I'm hooked and don't give a dam what you ride, you can ride with me any day. We'll be on the same trails looking out for each other, being places never been, and sharing that stupid grin we get when we mount our machines.
