I just got my manual which is for a 1996 - 2010 Polaris and it is referencing going into the "Meter Diagnostic Mode" in the 99 - 02 section, but it's vague on how I enter the mode and I'm almost wondering if I need an actual test tool to enter this. Does an 02 have this and if so, can someone tell me the steps to do this?

 

the diagnostic mode is only for the efi models and they didnt have them in 02'

 

incorrect. my 08 ho carb has the diagnostic mode it may not have the same features as the efi. but it has voltage, resistance readouts for what gear your in, and some other info.

as for an 02 id say its still to old for that mode. im not shure what yr it was started but id say round 04. if your gauge only has the small rectangle milage and hr display where you have to push a black button on the speedo it dont have the diagnostic mode.

 

Mine has a icon of a little wrench,does it have diagnostic mode??? 05 sportsman 400,maby I should go n read the book.

 

it has a fuel gauge correct? it show what gear your in on the speedo?

 

on my '03 you can get the pod to display ,charging voltage ,engine rpm ,etc.
but as far as codes ....no......like stendori wrote, it's an efi deal

 

YUP,and Yuh can change the display to speed,tach and I do`nt know what all,I still havent figgered how to get the nekkid dancin gurlz to come out on the display though.

 

Its a ECM (brain Box )thing, it came into play in 2004 or 2004.5 I think, ECM are on both the EFI and H.O carb models after that. You can have it,not all changes where for the best.

Low on oil light and over heat light is all you need on a ATV, there not a space shuttle.
