Question What Wire Is This??? 1997 Sportsman 400

I can't find where this brown ground wire is supposed to go, and if its necessary. One end is attached with other ground wires to the firewall and the other end is not attached.
My ride is a 1997 sportsman 400l 4x4.

Is everything working? I think I would call it a spare ground, that model year may not have had a circuit board but had extra wires for acc or other options from the factory.

Well the fan doesnt want to come on without jumping the wires, but thats probably the thermal switch.
The starter wont run at full speed without jumping it at the solenoid. Using just the batt and starter switch, it wont spin fast enough to start.
I bought another starter/kill/light switch because the one I have is garbage and I'm having light issues.
