What are the best front end setups from the diff. manufacturers for rock crawling and general mountain use? I am interested in 4x4 utility machines..not sport speedsters. I'm in the Denver area and make trips to Moab..in the market for a quad but still doing research. Thanks for the help.

THE ABSOLUTE best is the front end of a King Quad. IT gives you the option of 2wd, 4wd with and open diff, or a full on locker. I don't think you can beat this set up at all.

I'll second that about the frt differential lock. While the KQ doesn't have high top end speed, it more then makes up for it by never running out of useable low gears. You can move whatever you can keep traction for.
