I hit a tree pretty hard today and busted a huge chunk off my rear fender. I was wondering if there is an easy way to put the two pieces back together that doesn't look to bad. I saw on youtube people just drill a hole on either side of the crack and put a zip tie through but it looks like crap.

 

Just get your wallet out and buy new plastic! I have never seen anyone use any method other than the drilled holes and zipties.

Think of it as though they were "war wounds". You should be proud that you can still ride after the impact. Show everyone your "stitches" and be happy.... or buy some new plastics.

I have seen some other versions of the patch too, using doubling panels and pop rivets..... no better than the zip-ties in my opinion. You could also hand paint something around the crack to camouflage the crack....

 

Buy or borrow a plastic welder. You'll have a seam, but the repair will still look better than zip-ties.
