Default 2007 Polaris 800x2 Sputters

My 800x2 is displaying a periodic problem. One time I ran the ATV out of gas very soon after giving it a thorough bath. After it's was refueled it ran very rough at low RPM, had low power and sputtered during idle. Thinking it was bad gas and not knowing anything about EFI I took it to the dealer.
The dealer didn't get to it for a day or so and could not identify any problem as the ATV was running normally at that point. It had since not displayed this problem again.
Tonight after riding in the snow for about a 1/2 hour the ATV began doing the same thing. This time it appears I was able to "ride through it" as after running the ATV a little harder for a few more minutes it appeared to run normally again.
I'm concerned about causing additional damage by "riding through it" and generally don't want to get stranded by this issue.

Any thoughts would be greatly appreciated.

sounds like it must be a moisture issues when you get it wet like when washing it or snow. how much of the electronics is getting wet like plug wire, coil, or other? it's just a thought.

I agree with stendori....My guess is the spark plug wire ends getting wet...I'd take the plug wires off and get some dielectric grease and put some in the boot...Make sure you clean up any rust first ...
