Default off topic --- flood insurance or other coverage

Gents,
Plse do not chide me for off topic thread. This forum has been very fruitful in the advice category and I'm going back to the well, no pun intended.

So the northeast, like other areas of the USA, continue to get bombed with snow. With today and tmrw's probably amount, we will be over 90 inches for the winter, for an area that normally gets (i think) about 40-50 inches per winter.

For some of you in the midwest, these numbers are normal. But for us, its most likely going to be a record breaking year for snowfall. I live adjacent to watershed (town) property and by default am in an area that when the water table rises, i have flooding in my basement. I have a sump pump policy which covers damage/contents up to 25k, which is the maximum. On saturday, i added a flood policy from FEMA which covers 250k structural and 100k functioning contents, ie boiler, water heater, AC and NOT material goods.

My question, to those of you who have had or heard of spring flooding issues, what, if any, are other insurance coverage i can buy to cover my home?

Thx again for any and all input. And I am aware there might be better cites for this topic, but seems to be certain type of people on this one that i prefer to receive advice from.

I would double check your policy coverage. The 250k is for the structure which is where the furnace , etc. is covered) and the 100k is for personal property located above ground level,(not just for functional contents). If you need higher limits than that, there is extra coverage you can buy but it can be expensive. I am an insurance agent in MN but all the plans come from NFIP program and are the same coverage from what I understand. As a side note, your sump pump coverage will not apply if the damage occurs from flooding. It only applies if your sewer/sump pump overflows or backs up.
