Default Bunch of Outlaw 525 questions

Hey this weekend coming up they are calling for 37f thats warm enough to get the 3 hour break in done on the Outlaw so I figured i would ask a couple questions on oil and filters.

1. Anyone using aftermarket oil ? the polaris oil change kit for this thing is really spendy and for how often they want you to change the oil it's just too much money. I was thinking Amsoil Motorcycle 10W40 full synth. Anything out there as good but cheaper? Mobile 1 make a good high end atv oil?

2. Aftermarket oil filters anyone have a brand preference?

3. How much oil does the 525 really take? I know the predator i had book said one thing but it took a different amount . If i remember right it said 2 qt on the pred but it was really a little under 2.

Thanks for the info

I'm using Polaris oil in mine just because I have a few atvs, so I just buy the big jug for all of them to use. Ams oil would work fine just find the similar synthetic type.

I thought it was a little bit less than 2 quarts I can check when I get home. As far as filter I've been using the one from the dealer. I wonder if napa would carry something like those goofy short and long ones.
