Hey guys, I am new to the site but thought maybe I could get a little help before I went out and paid big bucks to have them tell me a wire is off. Anyway, I pretty much narrowed down that my rectifier was fried. For some reason the 04 sportsman 700 twins have 3 different types of different rectifiers. Mine has 4 wires instead of the 5 wire one I purchased and online there are no pics of the parts, so I went on a limb and bought one. There is a red, brown, yellow, and 2 yellow/red striped ones. Do I need to get another rectifier that has the 4 wires or will the 5 wired one work? maybe I could splice them together? Idk if this would overload the other wire it connects to though. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks!
ps I can tell mine is a 2004 not a 2004.5 because I have no gas gauge on my screen.
