Winch remote cord
#1
Hi All,
I'm a rookie so be gentle. I just purchased a new promark winch. Included was a remote control cord that's about 10 feet. My question is: is there such a thing as a remote control extension cord to make it longer than 10 feet?
Thanks
Mike

Unfortunately I don't think anyone makes anything like that. There would seem to be a bit of a market for it though.
You could splice an extension cord to the original remote cord with a few butt connectors, then tape or heatshrink around the connectors for a relatively tidy look, but it would be a permanent thing.
The other thing to look for is a wireless remote. Most bigger name manufacturers make a kit for their winches. That way you don't need to worry about pulling two cables through the woods and mud if you're stuck.

Hi, and thanks for the feed back. I got to thinking about it and after looking everywhere for the connectors for the cord and not finding anything to match it dawned on me, all I need is some three wire connectors like the type used for power extension cord. If I cut the wires and place this cord i make in line it should work. It takes me a couple of days to figure things out!
Again thanks for the help.
Mike
