Default Grease Question

So I have a question comming from the self proclaimed "Newb". I know that there are quite a few zerk fittings that need to be greased, my question is, is there a certain kind of grease you must use? Can you just use standard black lithium grease that is for grease guns? Or is there a specific kind that must be used? Meaning, can I go to lowes, and buy a box of grease cartridges? or do I need to go to a motorsport store and buy specific grease?

Welcome to the forum!! I used lithium grease pumped out of a 30 gal can for my air operated grease gun for almost 23 years! Lithium is the best no matter what color for chassis fittings. Most of the better lubes are lithium based. They have special greases used for cv boots, and grease for use on starter bendixes,BUT all in all a good marine rated lithium grease is about as good as you get.Just my old opinion again! NOT trying to start another oil, grease, political,or religious war again as we had before! That's a no win situation. OPT
