I am trying to remove the starter from a 93 trail boss 350 4x4. I am having trouble removing the two piece pull start to get to the two bolts behind the pull start in order to remove starter. The pull start seems to be hanging on something.

 

Black part of recoil stays on,just remove all surrounding bolts and may have to tap on cover to remove. Check and clean,grease starter bendix also. Not one of my favorite jobs since on bottom of motor,but better than pull starting everytime. OPT
