Default 2005 Outty Max Belt replacements?

Time to change the belt on my Outty, or should I say have to replace since it blew up.
Are the aftermarket belts worth a crap?
Or stick to the factory belt?
Looking at options here for the best since my riding tends to be way out from help.
My belt let go about 80 miles from my truck.

You can take all the "shootouts" and put them in one bucket and you won't have beans.

Seems the stock belt may be the best. The mud guys go thru belts a lot and are using the Dayco XDX or something like that. Highlifter rebrands and sells the same belt. Good luck.

I really like the Dayco extreme duty belt....you can notice the difference the second you put it on. Always keep a spare with you when your going to be on a long ride or have a big weekend ride planned. It only takes a few minutes to replace (even in the woods, if you carry a nut driver and the tool). This tool can be a homemade one. You don't need to go by a special one.

On the other forums folks say org BRP belt is the best...

For the future and your own peace of mind, it's time you to take a new habbit to check the CVT out once a while. I bet your oneway bearing would love to have some cleaning and new grease too.

Anyways, some says CVT cover comes off without removing left footboard and I have tried it once and ever since I always take off the footboard as it gives more room to work with.

I have small 1/4 ratchet set that I carry along, anyways you will need...

1) 8mm socket
2) long extension
3) ratchet or T-handle
(1-3 is needed for CVT cover)

In case you remove the footboards
4) T27 torx
5) 10mm wrench
6) Phillips screwdriver
(4-6 is needed footboard-fender bolts, 1-3&5 is needed to remove the serrated footpegs) Note: some haves just Phillips heads but I have Torx heads on my fenders so check it out to see what you need.

7) 13mm socket for BRP spreader bolt (BRP# 529 035 747, if you make your own then use socket that works)

The actual belt change takes about 30 seconds, spread the secondary, pull the belt against the primary shaft and slip the edge over the the secondary and while tranny on N, rotate secondary and the belt slips off. Most of time goes with preparing (hassling the CVT cover).

Depending the time of the year and how many miles I get, I take the belt off to check and clean the CVT (clean and relube the oneway bearing, friction disc and clean the housing from belt dust)
