Default X2 Owners jump in

I have an 06 X2 which I bought new. It has turned out to be a good machine for my use. Working around my property and riding 2 up with my wife. I have taken it on rides in the Upper Peninsula of Michigan to Kentucky and West Virginia. I particularly like the turf mode. Just got back from a 200 mile weekend trip on mine.

However, there really aren't a lot of accessories for it and was wondering what other owners have done to modify theirs. I have a winch and GPS mount but that's about it.

So anyone have any hints, tips, suggestions?

Howdy mac66.......I have a 2007 500 X2 and it's been a great machine. I agree about the turf mode........now if Polaris adds the power steering to the 2012 X2's.....that will be a winner.....plus I'll have one in the garage this year for sure. As for moding your X2.....there's a lot you can do. I actually think it works better on the trail for carrying around camping equipment than a regular sized Sportsman. The longer wheel base is tops. I've got fender bags all the way around, the Polaris cargo boxes on the back....and they are absolutely rain tight and dust proof. Just added HID lighting on all three headlights with the relay mod instead of the diode type......highly recommend the HID's. I've stayed away from engine or tire mods. I want to leave the engine alone and I just haven't worn the tires out yet to warrant replaceing. I did go to a K&N air filter, then went back to the stock filters. I'd rather have a new clean filter than a "washed out" clean filter. (Thanx Caper) There's a lot you can do with RotoPax fuel containers too. Just go nuts and have fun with the mods.......NoJoke

Got a handlebar mounted Garmin Nuvi 500, 26" Mudlite XTRs, use Rotopax gas cans also, front rack extender, soft bag for front. I just put blocks of aluminum in the U-channel that the dumpbox latches hook onto. Dumpbox hooks had dug a couple channels into the U-channels on the frame.
