Default Tire size

I just replaced the tires/wheels on my 2009 Rancher. I know someone that might want my old set of tires, however they are concerned about the size difference. I would like to know if this is a problem and could cause damage to the differentials or other parts. The old tires are 24x8-12 and 24x10-11. He wants to put them on a 1997 Fourtrax 300 full time 4wd. He currently has 23x8-11 on front and 24x9-11 on rear. Since he has 2 different sizes on there now, will it cause problems putting the same size tire on it? Also the difference in rim size.

Thanks for any info/help on this.
