Default 850 Exhaust

I have not been on here in a looooong time b/c I had to sell my 500 when I was laid off. Now have a 09 850 Xp eps and love it but am thinking about exhaust. I had Big gun on my 500 and loved it so I am looking at theirs first. First is their any advantage to having a full exhaust over just a slip on? Is it louder? Do I have to have a programmer if I put any kind of aftermarket exhaust on? Any other companies I should look at. Just taking a look on ebay looks like I can get a Big gun slip on for a little over 200$ Thanks for any info.

not sure on the 850, but alot of people put slip ons or whole exh. on the 800's w/ mixed results. maybe do a search if you get no good answer on your 850 on what they did for the 800 as a guide line. just a thought.
