I have a 2009 850 xp with eps was just wondering when the check engine lite comes on does it retard or disables the power steering. or would the power steering be going bad to make the check engin lite to come on.....out riding and gone 2 miles or so thrue woods. not going very fast. check engine lite comes on and the power steering goes away....I turn off machine and while holding left yellow button machine starts and engine lite is off.....thanks doug

I remember someone posting the same issue in the polaris forum some time ago- try doing a search if you didn't already- I don't remember what the issue was...

 

ok here an update.....my starter took a crap I guess this is an on going thing anyways, I found one of battery cables was slightly loose and that seemed to fix problem untill the past few weeks. I cleaned the battery terminals , checked the voltage and everything a ok so now the little icon on left side of pod n comes on and power steering goes away.....dealer closed yesterday gonna call today to see if I can get it in to put on computer to see iff there is a code.
