Cold weather jetting kfx80
#1
Hello, I know Im ahead of myself but I meant to do this earlier.
I live in Fargo ND, the dealer I bought the KFX80 from said they cant be run under 40 degrees. How should I jet this little bugger come this winter - we run if its a sunny day at 20 degrees, he loves playing in the snow with the little quad.
Speaking to the dealer there isnt a cold weather chart or anything for jets and I dont want to burn it up come this winter when I give him more throttle opportunity.
Thanks
Rob

I was pretty disappointed to hear him say you cant run these less then 40F as we run as much or more in winter playing in snow with the quads.
When I first got it I bumped the circlip on the needle jet down a notch (richer), pulled the carb restrictor and exhaust restrictor. The plug looks good.
FWIW I run Amsoil synthetic Interceptor as it doesnt stink as much as Kawie oil and seems to flow better. I still let the quad do the injection, nothing is modified.
Im about 980' sea level. So he can run the little bugger from 110F through -20F and not be concerned about re-jetting? Thats good to hear.

The injection is the only weak point IMO. If it'd get too thick to pump it'd be a problem.
To make sure all is well, maybe pull the plug after running it in the cold and see what it looks like.
I'm still betting all will be fine.
