Question Tomcars vs Polaris RZR and Can-Am Commander

Hello Everyone. So I passed along all this great advice and then he discovered a used Tomcar TM27g 2006. I did a small amount of reading on these and found that they are Military grade vehicles and are supposed to last 20 years. The one he is looking at looks like it was driven to hell and back. How do they compare to the RZR and Commander? With neither of those being available used the difference in cost would be RZR/Commander 15-20K New or 7.5K used for the Tomcar. Any advice is greatly appreciated.
Original thread here. I just realized I was posting in the wrong place http://forums.atvconnection.com/gene...ce-buying.html

Keep in mind, anything built for the military was built on a lowest bid basis.

I have never heard of a Tomcar before today but now I want one! If I were you and I was reasonably sure that parts were available locally I'd definitely try that used Tomcar.

I do like the narrow Polaris RZR as well because it fits everywhere an ATV can go but where you're at sounds pretty wide-open... I've ridden quite a bit with the RZRs and they can take a beating and go just about ANYWHERE.

The one set of trails we drive F350 trucks down the trail to the camp site, so it is no problem there. The one that concerns me is the trail with lots of mud and bog. But like someone said, if you have the right winch and a set of hip waders there really isn't anywhere you can't go with anything :-).
