For those of you who don't remember my January post, I was pretty bummed about the way my stock raptor handled. I couldn't slide the rear like I wanted... it felt way too top-heavy. Compared to the banshee and 400ex in our group, we all agreed that the raptor was the least "fun" to ride (they were all stock). We also agreed that the raptor was fast, but it just didn't feel right....

Well, last weekend I swapped tires with the Banshee... I can now light these things up and pitch out a powerslide at will. It's like a whole new machine.

Sofar, I haven't found anything negative. Hillclimbs, trails, etc. Everything is great.

The Banshee just got T-5's, so he was looking for more traction.. he's pretty happy with my stock raptor tires.. We are gonna keep it as a permanent trade!

After riding all three again, the 400ex is definitely the least-favorite now. It was a toss-up between the banshee and raptor.. T-5's made the banshee sick, but it has a lightswitch powerband not really suitable for casual riding. Since we mix it up, I'm really happy I'm on the Raptor.

Anyhow, will Razors give me traction simmilar to the stock banshee tires? I seem to have great forward traction with a low side-bite with the banshee stockers.

I think I'm still going to go with the Lonestar Axle because when I had paddles on it a few weeks back it still felt a little narrow.... but the stock axle with banshee tires works great for general trail blazin'!

Cool,my banshee buddy has been trying to get me to swap for awhile now. I didnt want to go to the trouble of changing them and not get good results.
I am always complaining of too much traction and he is complaining of too little. I believe I will try it now. Thanks for the info.

I beleive the stock Raptor tires would be great on the Shee. It would give it more front bite and I know it could break them loose and powerslide. After I got mine wide my Raptor could break them loose, so you could imagine what a Shee could do with them.

I traded my stock Raptor tires for some Razrs.
My buddy has a shee, and he was amazed how good
the Raptor tires hook-up. As for myself, I couldn't be happier with the Razrs. I can slide
around a corner with ease, and not worry about bringing the front end up. Plus they're very durable.

Did you go with 20" or 22" Razrs? I can't decide if going to 22s is a good idea or not.

My 22" Raz'rs should be here tomorrow, I will let you know how I like them. I was going to go with 20" ones until I flipped my Relay(shock) arm and it lowered it 2 1/4 inches. I figure that the 22's won't hurt me as much now and I'll get the benefit of the added clearance I need. I did a number on my PRM frame and swingarm skids last weekend during a harescramble. Not to mention the front tire I ruined, thats why I ordered the Raz'rs on Monday!

I went with the 20's. I didn't want to lose too
much on the bottom end, with the taller tires.

Take a look at this page, it shows what I am talking about. I rode last weekend in a harescramble and it was really rough and I don't see any damage or anything that looks like it is broken.
