Welcome to the forum! Jump the starter solenoid connections or use a test light to see if power is getting to the starter when you try to crank. If test light shows power, then probably starter needs to be looked at. Either try to clean/repair or replace. OPT

If you've tested the starter, then check the small power wire going into the solenoid, should be 12 volts when trying to start. It enables solenoid to transfer power from the battery side of solenoid to the starter wire side. OPT

Sounds like the solenoid wiring is ok,also from the switch, have you checked that could be binding at bendix in recoil area? About last thing I can think of unless the starter is requiring more voltage to turn over. Have had this happen when starters were not free enough(even after cleaning) to operate on 12 volts from solenoid and needed replacement! (dragging) OPT
