Default here i will try this here a yamaha

helping a friend with his yamaha, he tore up the outer cv joint left front
EPI is listing only a joint for 07-08 no 09-11 anyone know why?
Do we just buy a whole shaft? i'm sure it will fit and be still cheaper than the outer from yamaha.
will the outer cvjoint from epi for 07-08 fit on a 09 ?

Moved this over to the Yamaha section where you'll get a better chance of finding an answer.

What model is this going on?

oh sorry a grizzly 700 the original post had it as a subject, it was in the yamaha section. I got no replies, so either the yammie guys don't work on their own or nobody has wrecked a 09 and newer. or maybe everybody gets ripped off by yamaha. so i tried the polaris section.

So far we have found that yamaha shows a different part number. same wheel bearing and spindle. front diff same. so complete aftermarket shafts for any year, should be the same.
some ebay sellers show 07-09 10-11. but if you look close they are the same part number cvj 222 i believe.
so we have ordered an EPI joint 07-08 I will report back about what fitment issues there may be.

Did you get the part numbers from an online microfiche or from a dealer?

well i checked the microfiche and my friend asked two a dealers.
one said well it's a different part number. the other said they changed the splines.

thecvman.com lists them in all sorts of ways. 07 only, 08 only, 09 only, 07-09, all 700's.
all under the same part number CVJ 222, the front outer and rear outer being the same.
as the listing doesn't say if it is for front or rear. same bearings front and back so that makes sense.

So I guess we will see. they will fit his wifes 08 if not his.

so far so good, the 09 grizz is back together with an outboard cv joint. that was listed as 07-08 EPI joint
