Honda TRX 400X vs. Suzuki LTZ 400
#1
Hi, I've been thinking about which one I should get for months.
I live in The Faroe Islands, and here I can't really test drive any, so that's why I'm asking you guys. I drive often on open beaches, climb up the mountains low-end, and just do wheelies and stuff.
The specs on the Suzu, seem much better, EFI, Higher Compression Ratio, Liquid Cooled, DOHC, Wider etc.. The reason why I don't just buy the Suzu is because I've owned a Honda 250, and liked it very much. And I'm abit of a Honda guy. But I don't really know how Suzuki is.
So which one is better? Don't mind the price.
Thanks.

The liquid cooled Suzuki will put out more horsepower, and keep it up better under hard use compared to an air cooled engine. Both have reverse now, and Honda is a very reliable motor, but I would lean more toward the more updated liquid cooled Z motor, plus it also has excellent suspension to boot. If you are a die hard Honda man, the 400X is a great riding reliable quad, but if you want to mod and get more hp, you will have better luck with the newer style Z .

I have a ex and have had the chance to ride a z. The ex has lots of torque and is a great on the trails. But the z is more of a performance machine. My ex is a 01 and still going strong mainly stock. I dont do much besides change the oil and keep the filter clean.

Honda is more reliable and more of a trail machine.
The Suzuki is more performance and built more like a mx machine.
I've riden them both, the suzuki is very similar to the big brother lt450 and feels very similar, not much slower when moded either.
I love Honda but the Suzuki has em beat for handling and power in this 400cc class.
