cyl torque spec

Default cyl torque spec

can someone tell me the torque spec for cyl and head bolts on a sportsman 500 i think its a 2002 thanks

Tighten the 4 main head bolts to 22 foot pounds, then 51 foot pounds in a cross fashion, then loosen all bolts 1/2 turn,then tighten to 11 foot pounds,then 90 degrees(1/4 turn),then FINALLY 1/4 turn more! Two small 6mm bolts torque to 71 inch pounds. This is by the book. OPT

One of the few things this old brain could remember without looking at a manual,I guess because I worked on so many of em? OPT
