hand warmers kit hook up Polaris Scrambler 500
#1
Hey I have a 1999 Polaris Scrambler 500 and I am wanting to put an SPX grip and thumb warmer kit on it. The instructions say to hook the positive wire to the key switch but I don't see anywhere to put it. So I am going to hook it up to the battery. I think this will be okay but I just have to remember to turn of the hand warmers. Also I don't know where the ground is down near the battery. Can I just drill a hole into the frame or will this ruin the infer structure. If someone knows where to hook up the positive wire near the key switch that would be great because there is a ground near there. I know this sounds a little confusing. But any help is greatly appreciated.
Thanks

Just hook it to ANY red/white wire under the front panel, red/white wires powered up only when the switch is on!Ground to any brown wire also. You can put a simple toggle switch inline with the red/white wire(if kit doesn't provide an on /off switch) and mount on the the front panel or wherever if you wish and won't matter if you forget to turn it off,the ignition switch will take care of that! That's how we hooked em up. I wouldn't hook directly to the battery! OPT

Can I hook the power wire to the red and white wire that goes to the temperature light on the control panel? I don't see any plain red wire. The is a bunch of wires going to the ignition switch but they are covered in a plastic wrap. Do I take that little plastic cover off where those wires go into the ignition. And if there is a red wire there how do I hook it up inside the plastic cover? Do you guts mean red and white wire. Or just a plain red or white wire? I don't really know what I'm doing. By the way the hand warmers come with a switch.
