Default Most Powerful 250 quad

My brother wants a 400 but i think that is too big. I was just wondering what the biggest 250 atv was? Any help would be much appreciated.

Thanks

Age and experience come into play with size but, in my experience 250cc's are outgrown quickly. Are you looking at sport or Utility's?

You're getting soft Koop. I was sure your post was gonna say "About 250".

Dimension wise, the major brand 250's aren't that much different in size than the bigger ones. You could compromise and get something like a 300ex if he wants a sport quad. Lots of mods, fairly cheap, dependable and quite a few used ones out there.

Then again, he may want a ute.

yeah he is 19, I'm 15, then my younger brother is 12 but we were looking for a sport 250 mainly but he doesnt like the look of the 300ex he says it looks "outdated". what about a z250? or does that really lack power and size

Ha Ha! You could say that. I feel like I've aged 10 years in this [sarcasm] Great [/sarcasm] year of 2011.

As for a sport 250. The Raptor 250 is a great learning machine for smaller people. Other than that I think you guys will outgrow any (even the raptor) 250 pretty quickly. The 300ex and 400ex may look outdated but, there is a reason you can still find them around. They are solid and have tons of aftermarket support once you need an upgrade.

I started out quadding when I was 12 on an '86 TRX 350 4x4, when I was 15 I bought myself a Kawasaki Lakota 300. It didn't take long to get used to the power, and as long as you take it easy and gradually get more comfortable with the power, you'll be fine. Just don't punch the throttle or go faster than you need to be going. Go with a 400ex, its has a nice, easy going engine, and you won't get bored of it after a few times out riding. The power is decent but it won't scare the hell out of you. Anything smaller and you'll just want more.
