Default DS650: Convert 01' and up oil filter to 00'

Anybody know if it is a simple as replacing the oil filter cap and screws from an 01+ DS650 to be able to use the longer filter on an 00'? Is there a spring on the later models that is not there on the 00 as well?

It's that simple. Just purchase a newer filter cover on freebay and get the three packs of filters on there also and you're set. The screws are the same. And no spring on the longer filters. You will see three ridges molded into the longer cover that hold the filter in place.
Better filtration with the longer filter and the newer ones are easier to come by than the shorter ones.
