Default DS650: removing needle from diaphragm

I've searched a little bit, and looked through my repair maunal, but nothing tells me how to remove the needle from the diaphragm in my stock DS650 carb. I assume that it's just a friction fit, but when I pull on it, it does not budge. I'm wondering if a previous owner epoxied it in there for some reason. Thx
