Exclamation 1996 sportsman 400 4x4 2 stroke carb problem

I just done the top end and had it bored 50 over. It had not ran in about a year and now I put it all back together and when it i crank it up it revs almost wide open. I have checked the slide and adjusted idle screw and no change. Does anyone have an answer.

Welcome to the forum! Check/replace the crank seals behind the drive clutch and stator ,could be sucking air causing it to rev to the moon? Plus check or recheck the carb and fuel line for any partial blockage of fuel. These along with any leaks at cylinder base gasket or head could cause lean conditions. Keep us updated OPT

welcome to the forum. if your sure the slide is not hanging up and the throttle is closed then it sounds like as otp mentioned you have a massive air leak.
