Was wondering if there was a aftermarket fan I could get for this besides the big motor setup? O it's on 99 sportsman 500 I keep going through fan motors! Thanks guys!

$107 at DB Electric versus $218 at Cycle Parts Warehouse and I know the dealers are even higher! Others may know of even cheaper places? OPT

my question is why is it going through motors or how many? got to be something wrong if it's eating fan motors unless you do alot of mudding/water running as it's hard on them when they kick on.

Yes it dose see alot of mud I have a 2inch lift with 27inch outlaws on it, and the motor now is making lots of bearing noise and dose not seem to have the right speed! Was thinking of a rad relocation kit but I don't know how you would use that huge motor lol

Maybe, but the older Sportsman had this separate fan with a large awkward fan motor. I wonder if you can make a $80 low profile (Spal) fan like my 2001 has work and fit somehow? Its a much slimmer all in one fan motor combo unit.

Here is there site and fan 9"(VA07-AP8/C-58A) exact same make and model my dealer wanted $320 for. LOL

most likely then the mud runs are what is eating the bearing in the motor. at least that would make sense.

I know some people put there fan on a switch so they can manually turn it on and off. Then you either get a temp gauge so you know when to turn it in and off. Or you use the switch to cut power to the thermo sensor so when you are going into water you shut it off, then once you get out you turn it back on so the thermo sensor has power to kick the fan on if needed. The second option is nice because you don't have to monitor the gauge. Basically just leave the switch on and it will work like normal, the fan will cycle on and off, turn it off to go in the water.

Well just an update, for ppl with the same issue, it took the guy a matter or 15min to take the motor apart replace to 2 barrings witch he said you can get at any parts store, then we rtv the hell out of it, made it much more water tight! Only cost to me was a case of beer.
