Default 05 grizzly rev limiter problem

i have a 2005 (I think, 10th vin is "5") 660 grizzly and am having problems with the rev limiter in diff lock mode. i know it is supposed to limit at around 22 mph, but this one limits at 4-5mph. override button does nothing, i checked it and it make contact at cdi when depressed. i even tried the jumper wire trick. assuming the cdi was defective, i bought a used unit off ebay, but it does the exact same. also, i don't know if it is related, but the red light on instrument panel for diff lock blinks. is it supposed to, or stay on constant. any help would be greatly appreciated!

would like to add, if moving without diff lock, engine won't cut out until it engages. also, unplugging speed sensor keeps it from revv, but loosing display. thanks

When the red diff lock light is blinking that mean you have activated diff lock with the push button but the servo motor has been unable to move into the correct position that it should be in when the diff is locked.
Try removing the servo motor and see if it turn while you select 2wd 3wd and 4wd and see if you light will quit blinking.

Your diff lock light needs to be solid for your machine to not cut out , is it flashing or solid .

pulled the gear motor off this morning and checked its operation. everyworks correctly. problem ended up being the rack was in the wrong position when the motor was meshed to it. made adjustments and everything works fine now! luckily i had built a atv lift that raised the machine to chest-height. made it much easier to work on! thanks for help!
