Default Polaris 90 oil mix question

Ok so I took off the oil injection on the predator 90. I just want to know what to keep an eye on for it running okay. Such as spark plug color and stuff. I mixed up 2 gallons of gas with 8 oz. of oil and put it in. Almost seems like it is smoking a little more but have not takin it out very long yet. Thanks for any advice

According to my old ratio rite cup you're running about 32-1 which is on the rich side. You may have better results and less smoke if you drop it down to 40-1(about 6 ounces for 2 gallons eyeballing around my cup) Lot of people think more oil the better but in fact from what I learned from the old schoolers years ago was too much oil just wastes oil, fouls plugs and doesn't give the engine the potential to make all the power it can because you're loosing octane with too much oil.
