2005 polaris 700 fuel problems
#1
I have a 2005 polaris efi 700. I filled the tank and drove it about 5 mile when it quit acting like it was out of gas. I waited about 10 minutes added 1 gallon and it started and got me home. Dealer say the fuel pump test @ 39psi and runs fine now. Also the fuel gauge reads full even though there is less than 1/2 tank. Can anyone help since dealer wants to replace tank, fuel pump etc for about $800.00. Do you think the fuel pump is faulty and intermitantly fails. What is up with this 5 mile on 5 gallons? Help please. I am new to al of this

Welcome to the forum! 39 psi is about right on the fuel pump pressure, but if you have any more problems, aftermarket pumps are available at Napa, etc. Replacing the whole tank assembly isn't necessary as Polaris even has replacement pumps now for most models but are higher! Others should be able to give the pump number if this one isn't right. Airtex pump #E8198 at Napa for less than $100 I believe, plus Carter P72118,and Delco EP 308 are two more I found on other posts.. Plus there are other pumps that people have used. Plus have you replaced the fuel filter located at the front of the atv? OPT
