Default 2000 warrior 350 - unknown bracket - can you identify?

i just bought a yamaha 350 warrior , there is a brack on the swing arm that has some holes in it, at first i thought it was for the shock, then i thought it was for the dogbone link to the relay arm and found out that its for neither of those... no one seems to know what it is for.. but you can see it (yellow arrow) pointing to it..

does anyone know what this is for?? please help...

I just looked at a parts diagram at " bikebandit.com". I see nothing that looks like that bracket. Someone may have added it for some reason, maybe a trailer hicth.

I thought the same thing, but my mechanic said its too perfect of a fit for someone to just add on as some kind of home made modification, not to mention the paint, and bolts, how the are perfectly color matched.

I haven't had a chance to take it yamaha yet to see if they know..
somebody somewhere should know what this is..

It dosen't look that hard to make, and you can get the correct paint. The nut is a locking nut and the threads don't stick out past the nut. I think if it was from the factory they would have used a longer bolt. I hope someone cant tell you what it is for, I'm just guessing.

what nut are you referring to ? the dog bone (link) nut that connect the relay arm to the swingarm ? the treads are perfectly flush on that one.
look at the bolts that attach it to the swing arm frame, those are a perfectly tap into the swing arm. they are about an inch long and even a metric thread. If it is home made, someone spent alot of time and effort to make
it correctly.. is it another shock mount? the angle of wear marks indicate
something was facing down towards the relay arm.

it don't seem to affect the ride , but its confusing as hell..

I just looked at a bunch of Warroir swingarms on Ebay and none of them have that bracket or the 4 bolts holding it on.

That's definately not a factory piece, and definately not a Yamaha suspension bolt. Someone did a good job on it, whatever it was. Is there any way it could be a homemade lift/lowering kit? Can the top of the dogbone be unbolted and be bolted at the other front holes? If I'm thinking right this would raise the rear, if it's even possible?
