frame damage to polaris 500 sportsman
#1
hello, I have a 2006 polaris sportsman 500 h.o. the right front hit a very large boulder dead on to to tire and the frame bent in severely up against the front drive shaft. the "A" arm was not broken but the frame collapsed in toward the front drive shaft just behind the last mount where the "A" arm mounts to frame. my question to you is how much to fix if i took it in to a shop (ballpark)? the other question is can i swap a polaris 2005 sportsman h.o. frame with a 2006?
much appreciated
thanks

Welcome to the forum! I've had a-arm mounting tabs welded and reinforced before, plus have had frames that weren't tweaked much straightened, but just depends on how badly it's bent. Early model 2006 Sportsman 500 frames(built before 7/25/05) and 2005 Sportsman 500 frames had the same part numbers. Can't remember what the changes were on later model 2006 frames, but shouldn't be a problem if you can't repair yours on swapping with an 05.. OPT
