Default Terrapro runs erratic on start

I hope somebody can help me with this.... When I start my Terrapro, it will run extremely fast then cut down to almost stall give some little coughs and start running fast again. It repeats this until I put it in gear and start moving, it then runs fine. Am I dealing with a carb problem or a throttle cable problem? Thanks in advance to any help!

Its hard to say for sure but sounds like a choke issue to me. I'd say pull the carb and through clean up on it. the choke components are relatively easy to get to so I'd pull and clean them thoroughly before doing a kit.

Might also check the air cleaner to be sure it's not blocked or plugged otherwise

Default my terrapro wont stay running

I just bought a terrapro with the brush hog mower. put a new battery in and it started but it would cut out and not run. I drained the tank and put in new gas and additive and took the carb off and cleaned it real good. it would start and still cut out. where do i look next to fix the problem

Sounds like it could be air - not enough blocked air filter or choke not working. need some more testing to recommend anything. try spraying carb spray or better yet starting fluid in the filter intake. If it fires give it a bit more and try again. see if you can me it run longer or if it does not fire any differently, look at the choke. the choke is a wierd setup on the Terrapro so be sure you got it back together right. maybe it was wrong when you took it apart so be sure it is together right~!

cutting out is also possible the needle valve is stuck and no fuel is getting in the bowl. unscrew the bowl drain and be sure there is fuel in it before anything else. if not, pull the carb abd replace needel valve/reset float level.

Sounds like a carb problem, may want to check and see if your pipe is tight, check for holes. I had a bike to this, the header was pulled out from the mounts...
