I have a 2005 500HO and it loses power at 1/4 throttle. Wide open she pulls like a train. I've checked many things but someone told me the stator is my problem. Any one experience this before?

What all have you checked our or eliminated as a cause? OPT

 

So far I've replaced the plug, fuel filter, belt, air & pre-filter. Just the basic stuff as I'm certainly not an ATV mechanic but I do like to fix things if it falls within my limitations. It doesn't happen in neutral only when riding.

 

It could be just that the carb may need a good cleaning,float level checked or rebuild the carb . Especially since in neutral with no load it runs better. Could be under load it could just be stumbling because of some trash or water in the carb until it's able to pull out of it and runs good at higher speed. I've found this quite a few times. You might drain the fuel bowl and see if you find water bubbles in the gas. OPT
