Default Oil Leak

I am new to the forum and have some ATV problems. I have an Arctic Cat 300 and the oil line going into the top of the cooler is leaking. Can I use any 3/8 rubber line like a gas line or does it have to be a special oil line? Thanks for any help.

I would say no due to the high heat. You can use pressure and temperature rated power steering hose which is available in a variety of sizes and cut to length bulk at most local professional auto parts stores like Napa. Autozone or Advance will most likely not have it, but worth a call. I use it on a regular basis when installing auxiliary auto transmission coolers.

I replaced the hoses on my 400FIS due to cracking from weather checking. I picked them up at my local auto parts store. They were 3/8 hoses and were temperature and pressure rated for oils/fuel. It cost about $0.65 per foot. Take one of the old ones off and take it in with you. Cut them about 3 inches longer than the original ones and then if you ever have to remove the oil cooler to get at the fan you have enough slack in the hoses to do that without removing the cooling lines.

My 700 had cases that leaked. I got it back, front diff siezed up and pushed the shaft back into the case. I'm pissed off, I have ridden 1 time since mid June and that was the front end problem. Been in the shop for 4 months.
