Default polaris diesel 4wd loud noise from crankcase

I have a polaris 4wd diesel atv. m# 1341283 or vin#4XACH45C0xAO40087 It takes about fifteen minutes just to get it started. once started it has an unusually loud rattling coming from the crankcase. It will ride but has no power what soever. Totally bumbed out because before ,I could drag logs out of the woods for firewood. Now I only wish.

You have a 1999 500. These yellow beasts were noisy even if running right. Check the clutches and belt first to see if this is the problem area. We only sold a couple and only one ever came back in for minor service, but from what I heard they normally would outlast anything around. OPT

I really wish Polaris would build another single seat diesel atv. Should of bought one when I had the chance.

They're fine if you're a farmer or rancher as they love em! But no one else would want to have you ride around with em because of the noise and smell OPT

I missed one for sale about 5 years ago, former owner said it pulled like a tank. Engine needed a rebuild, only wanted $600.

I laugh at all the people who bitch about them being noisy, yet these are the same folks that have HMF exhausts on their gas quads.

If the Arctic cat was not a 2 up, I would own one.
