Default Cost of new tires and battery for an old trail boss

Hey,

How much will it cost to put new tires (preferably used ones) and a battery on a 250cc old trail boss.

In general, I want to get a cheap ATV and keep it in my land - so if someone takes it isn't so bad. I mainly need it to get to my cabin on my 1500ft muddy road. Any recommendations on what kind of specs I should get? thanks!

Welcome! Takes a 14AA2 battery. Can be anything from a Wally World cheapo on up to higher price ones. Problem is if it's left for any period of time without a maintainer you'd just be having a dead battery all the time(But on the older 250s you can at least recoil start) Check any atv shop on takeoffs and used tires. If most shops are like what our shop was, they should have stacks of em out back. OPT

thanks!

I plan on taking apart the battery and seat every time I leave it there to make it harder to steal. I will charge the battery at home.

Can you give me a range or ball park on how much it should cost to replace?

On used tires you'll have to haggle with dealers/owners on price. If you want to spend 10 bucks for a tire expect it to be bald! This ought to give you an idea on what you may want to spend. Batteries run about 35 bucks and up. OPT

If you take a wheel off it will be harder to steal.
