good cold weather battery? ds650
#1
So I live in Minnesota and I like to ride in the snow, but my ds won't start unless kept in the garage all night. It's an inconvenience space wise just to ride. So it'd be awesome if any have experience with this kinda thing or advice. All is welcome.

Get a battery with higher cranking amps, its stated right on the battery.
Another trick is cover the ATV with a tarp and run aextensionn cord with a 60w light bulb (Not the twirly type they have no heat) place it close to the motor. Acts like a block heater in a car.

i buy the everstart maxx batterys from walmart . i run a 12 now but almost got a 20 for the same reason. may have to mod your box a little, but there cheap and seem to do fine here in wv. also i know if your carb isn't adjusted spot on it will be hard to start. you could also leave a trickle charger on it.

Walmart sells Everstart Premium Power Sport AGM batteries that work really well in the cold as long as you charge them properly the first time. I use a Battery Tender Plus to perform the initial charge and then I use it to keep the battery topped up when sitting. The battery will last for years and have good cranking power in any weather. I start mine in sub zero temps, sitting outside, all the time.
So, get a Battery Tender Plus for the initial charge and to maintain the battery when sitting, and then find what size Everstart Premium AGM battery fits your rig, and you should be set for years.
