Default Just bought a 2002 DS650...help me out a little bit

I have had the quad for 2 days, late build 2002 if it means anything.

Runs great, drives great; oil is clean not milky.

Anyways, gave the quad a once over tonight. Changed the oil, filter, greased it up...etc

My only concern is this damn oil/temp light....

I took out the oil sensor right next to the oil filter, and cranked it for half a second and oil came shooting out. So I assume the oil pump is working properly.

Coolant is full, and clean...

So why is this light on? Bad relay or blown fuse somewhere?

Faulty sensor? I looked around the quad for relays and fuses and couldn't seem to find them...any help is great. Thanks.

buddys 01 light kept coming on too. replaced the sensor you speak of. dose yours have the flat metal connection with the rubber boot? or the plastic topped sensor with the plastic connector with the clip and waterproofing? the replacement is the newer plastic waterproofed one. you have to get the sensor and the sensor wire side plastic clip separate. the dealer had some trouble finding both parts, but did in the end. my 04 has the updated sensor "stock". so maybe look into that year. the wire side of the clip is also what they use in the can-am spyders turn signals.

Well, I was riding today light came on....and then I smelt like burning oil...

I had milky oil coming out of the breather hose.

Took the clutch cover off, removed the water pump assembly...

The main shaft was grooved enough to catch your finger nail and once I removed the seals in between them was the milky oil substance so I assume I found the problem.

I ordered all the parts from a BMW dealer hopefully have them for next weekend.
