strange all wheel drive feeling??
#1
Well, I had drivin up a steep very thick muddy hill and then back down it into a field. When driving across the field it felt like the quad was pulling me back and forth and extremely hard to stear. I thought it was just the mud caked in the tires making it handle poorly but it was much worse then that, and didnt get better after the mud cleared. I stopped and put it in nuetral and cycled in and out of AWD and the problem went away. It felt like all four wheels were locked, and not sure why it did this. any thoughts? thanks in advance.

Mud like you said probably kept it in awd mode whether you have hub activated or the centralized system(you didn't mention what model you have) Just clean it up and change the awd fluid if it's been a while. In perfect and less than perfect conditions the front wheels are supposed to kick out when the back tires can handle the terrain, but mud isn't always perfect conditions and can clog up the drive shafts, etc.

On one of my older Sportsmans with the hub activated system if I backed up in 4wd it would stick sometimes. It only did it in reverse and could lock one or both sides. I had to put it in 2wd and shake the handlebars back and forth to unstick it.
