help, cv shaft install
#1
Hi,
I have a 08 sportsman 500. I removed the rear cv shaft, replaced the boot and can't get the shaft back into the transmition. The c clip is on. Any suggestions. It should slide in. I have put never seize. It seems very difficult to hit it. Any help would be appreciated. The bike is apart. Thanks

Easier if you have the upper a-arm up out of the way then you can have the drive shaft straight. Align it with the splines, push in to compress the cv joints and hit it with a dead blow hammer. It should seat. Or if you have help, just hold it straight and have someone knock it in. Plus you can use a piece of wood and a hammer to keep from damaging the threads on the shaft.
