I'm having problems starting my atv. I just took the carburetor out and cleaned it throughly but its still not starting. The atv is turning over but it will not catch so that it can idle. I had it backfire once when trying to start. Before the problem started I was using the atv and it would idle fine but when you hit the gas it would die. but now like i said it wont start but it will turn over. I have no idea what could be wrong.. any ideas or input would be greatly appreciated! thanks

 

Unless the Ducati ignition has been replaced with the Kokusan 2202603,this is more than likely the problem. Symptoms were hard starting,backfiring,just dieing and not starting back up,etc. Just do a general search on "Sportsman 600-700 ignition problems" in this forum or just Google it and you will see it's a common problem. Cost is around $450-$475 online at places such as Cycle Parts Warehouse,Cheap Cycle Parts,etc. Just check around for the best price. Here's the pdf instructions and what all is in the kit.
