What are you guys using for an alternate oil choice? 5W50, M1?

Right now I'm using Castrol Edge 5w50. M1 would also be a good choice. The best 5w50 out there is probably Schaeffer's, but it's a little on the spendy side. Still cheaper than PS4 from a Polaris dealer though.

5w-50 is fine. The trick to those dry sump Fuji single motor is aways use Synthetic and keep that first cold start viscosity number low to get that oil flowing in those dry sumps to that cam as quick as possible.
Lots of good 0w-40 out there also. That weight only comes in synthetic.

i do a mix of a lil thinner with a little thicker to achieve that grade..i know its a rough estimate of viscosity but when the "real" grade isn't available its the next best thing. I think some manufacturers make there own viscosity to force you to buy there oil.

I really believe the 2w50 was a gimmick on Polaris's part to get people to buy this oil. When they came out with the "extreme" 5w50 that just blew the doors off as far as I was concerned and opened it up up for grabs on what to use.The original 0w40(Mobil 1 or Amsoil),2w50 Polaris(IF you wish to spend the $),5w40 Rotella ,OR 5w50 of ANY major brand as long as it's synthetic.

Actually some of Polaris oil filters still said Subaru on them that I used at work, which is owned by Fuji Heavy Industries. No telling who the original supplier is or was, could have changed over the years? Even some of the reps and engineers couldn't tell me or didn't know themselves who really supplied them.
